Heat Carrier Liquids

When industrial processes generate large amounts of heat energy that must be moved from one place to another, heat carrier oils and thermal oils, in addition to simple hot water and superheated steam, are common ways to achieve this. They have the benefit of working in a nonpressurized condition. However, thermal oils become thermally unstable at temperatures above 350°C and must be replaced by eutectic salt mixtures.
